Gerard Gallagher
Gerard Gallagher is the author of Are We Losing the Young Church? (Columba Press 2005) and Your Child’s Confirmation (Redemptorist Communications 2012).
He writes regularly for various journals and publications. He has worked in Munich, Germany with the Irish Chaplaincy Service and since the early 1990s with Catholic Youth Care in the Archdiocese of Dublin.
Since 2009 he has worked in the Office of Evangelisation & Ecumenism in the Archdiocese of Dublin. He has been a member of the Local Planning Committee for the IEC2012 and chaired the Pastoral, Liturgy and Programme Committee.
He is an MA graduate in Theology from St Patrick’s College in Maynooth and also holds an MA in Management.
Where is the Young Adult Church Today?
Gerard Gallagher will examine where is the Young Church today – he will draw on some of the story of how young people have participated in the Church in Ireland since the Second Vatican Council. He will also look at some new pastoral trends and approaches to thinking about the young adult Church and the challenges of maintaining a young Church.
