All parishes in Kildare & Leighlin are invited to participate in an Action for Justice where non-perishable food items or monetary contributions can be donated for local food kitchens.
Action for Justice Initiative
The theme for the diocesan stand at the National Ploughing Championship this year is ‘Act Justly’ (Micah 6:8) Together with Trocaire, the official overseas development agency of the Catholic Church in Ireland we hope to raise awareness of justice issues at home and across the world.
As part of this initiative we are inviting all our parishes to participate in an Action for Justice during the week September 20 – 28th.
The invitation is to set up a space in the parish where non-perishable food items or monetary contributions can be donated.
Option 1
This Action for Justice will offer support to St Clare’s Hospitality Food Kitchen and gives us all the opportunity to respond in a very real way to the call of the Gospel to ‘feed the hungry’ particularly the growing numbers struggling to put food on the table in our own diocesan community
Option 2
Parishes may also opt to engage in an Action for Justice to help those within their own parish community.
