Dr Brendan Purcell
Born in Dublin, Ireland, in 1941 Dr Brendan Purcell studied philosophy at University College Dublin and theology at the Pontifical Lateran University Rome.
After ordination for the Archdiocese of Dublin in 1967, he worked on a doctorate in psychology at the Catholic University of Leuven for three years, completing it at UCD. He lectured in Logic and Psychology at UCD from 1972, and retired as senior lecturer in the School of Philosophy in 2008.
He is now assistant priest at St Mary’s Cathedral, Sydney, and adjunct professor in the School of Philosophy at Notre Dame University, Australia. Brendan is an accomplished author, teacher and commentator in the field of philosophy.
